Audio Atrocities™ : Shining Force III · SEGA · Saturn · 1998
Shining Force is one of the best Tactical RPG series ever created. That simple fact makes what SEGA of America did to the US release of Shining Force III even more criminal.

Laws of decency and common sense were clearly broken in the recording of the battle voices for this game, and it would not be surprising if it was revealed that livestock were slaughtered to atone for the sins of the Director. There's no way to adequately describe the horror of hearing the voices sampled here in the actual game, so you'll just have to imagine these paired with lush Japanese anime-style visuals to get the full nauseating effect.

Exhibit A: You can't run away.
We may not be able to, but this falsetto transsexual delivery certainly makes the urge to run strong.

Exhibit B: Uah, ha, ha, ha, ha...
All together now, let's recite Audio Atrocities most abused rule of voice acting: 'If the laughter is unnatural sounding, cut the laughter from the script, or change the actor!' As you can plainly hear, this rule was ignored with reckless abandon. Again.

Exhibit C: Now bear my ARCTIC BLAST!
Over and Over. Over and Over. Over and Over. And it doesn't get any less horrifying the 532nd time you hear it in the game.
