Audio Atrocities™ : Zombie Revenge · SEGA · Dreamcast · 1999 | |
But, just because it's not the absolute worst doesn't mean it's free of groan-inducing audio. As with HotD2, this game suffers from EXTREME monotone acting that drains any kind of drama from every voiced scene. Oh, that, and the main bad guy's so fruity-sounding it's impossible to take him seriously. Exhibit A: “So, you made it here aliive...” See? Isn't this one of the fruitiest, non-scary bad guys you've ever heard? It sounds like the bad guy's butler, or cross-dressing brother, or...something. Anything but the real bad guy. Exhibit B: “Guh huh uh...” Little known fact. Goofy has a cameo in this game. Okay, not really, but I'll be damned if this doesn't sound like Goofy. Exhibit C: “Dammiiiiiitttttt...” This is the clip that plays when you die and get the continue screen. It's supposed to be your character gasping his last breath as he dies. And yes, this is read like everything else in this game - as flat as possible. It's almost an art form for these SEGA arcade games, I think. The Rest: Haven't had enough? Here's some additional clips for your amusement: Clip 4, Clip 5, Clip 6, Clip 7, Clip 8 “Dammiiiiiiitttttttt...” |
